In a release earlier today, the Pac-12 conference announced its awards and all-conference teams, with Bruins Takkarist McKinley, Jayon Brown, and Scott Quessenberry named to the first team.
McKinley finished with 10 sacks on the season, and led the team with 18 tackles for loss, while Brown led the team with 69 total tackles in 2016. Quessenberry took over the starting center position this season from four-year starter Jake Brendel.
Nate Iese, Conor McDermott, and Kenny Young were named to the second team. Other Bruins named as honorable mentions included Darren Andrews, Randall Goforth, Fabian Moreau, Eddie Vanderdoes, and Jaleel Wadood.
Washington quarterback Jake Browning was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year, while Taylor Rapp, also from Washington, was named the Freshman Defensive Player of the Year. A couple of other player awards I’m not going to mention.
Mike MacIntyre, who turned around a Colorado team that went 1-8 in conference last year into the South Division champion, was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year.
The awards and all-conference teams are selected by the Pac-12 coaches.
Congrats all!
GO BRUINS.
