According to a report from Bruin Report Online, Scott White and Demetrice Martin will not be on the sidelines for the UCLA Bruins’ December 26th Cactus Bowl game against Kansas State as both coaches have reportedly been let go.
The report adds that there has been no official confirmation from UCLA as to why the coaches were let go early. At the same time, those that are Twitter hounds like myself saw a very peculiar, and I will say classless, re-tweet by Scott White of a certain local recruit's negative tweet about UCLA and Chip Kelly hiring defensive backs coach Paul Rhoads.
This is absolutely the correct move by UCLA. I cannot put myself in either coaches’ shoes during this difficult time for them, but you keep quiet, finish out your time as a UCLA coach, and set an example for your players on how to handle adversity with class.
The report concludes by noting that graduate assistant defensive backs coach Dalton Hilliard will take over coaching the secondary for the Cactus Bowl.
