On Saturday, UCLA debuted their new Under Armour football uniforms online and, last night, they showed off the new football uniforms to season ticket holders at the second annual Bruin Viewin’ event at the Rose Bowl.
One of the biggest hits of the evening was new Bruin Sunny Odogwu. One of UCLA’s newest linemen was posing for pictures lifting one child with each arm. When asked how he’s enjoying Westwood, he said that he’s loving Los Angeles so far and he spoke about how welcoming everyone has been. He also said that he could have stayed in Miami, but he explained that “Sometimes, it’s good to be uncomfortable.”
Most of the players I spoke with were wearing their new Under Armour jerseys for the first time and they were all liking them. Of the players I spoke with only Jaelan Phillips had actually tried on the new unis with pads, having done so for the photo shoot that revealed the uniforms.
Also, here’s a look at the Facebook Live video that we did to show off the new unis.

One other note from attending Bruin Viewin’ is the fact that the Vons on Fair Oaks and Orange Grove Blvd, which has been the closest grocery to the Rose Bowl for a very long time, has closed. While a Vallerta Supermarket is scheduled to replace it, it may not be open in time for the start of the season.
As a result, all tailgaters who have shopping to do before the first few home games should plan on shopping elsewhere. At the very least, you should confirm that the location has re-opened. If you don’t, you may have to scramble for your tailgate needs.
The shopping center parking lot is open and available, however, so it is still a good central meeting place before heading into the Rose Bowl parking lots.
Go Bruins!!!
