The past few years, the UCLA Athletic Department has held a mid-summer event at the Rose Bowl called Bruin’ Viewin’, where season ticket holders had been invited to watch a pre-selected movie on the Rose Bowl video board. This year, the event has been moved up to June 1st to coincide with the annual Select-A-Seat event and it’s been renamed Bruin Snoozin’ and expanded to also add the opportunity for Wooden Athletic Fund members, football season ticket holders and Den Pass Holders to camp out under the stars and spend the night on the Rose Bowl field.
Yes, you read that right.
Here’s how it now works: all season ticket holders have been given a time slot to choose their season seats if they wish to change them from the seats the athletic department has assigned. Appointment times are prioritized by Wooden Athletic Fund donor level, lifetime giving to UCLA Athletics, and number of consecutive years as a season ticket holder. The time slots begin in the morning and continue until 4:00 in the afternoon.
After Select-A-Seat concludes, there will be a Rose Bowl open house where fans have the opportunity to tour the site, visit the locker room, and engage with current UCLA football players. This part will seem familiar to people who have attended Bruin Viewin’ in the past.
At 6:00, gates to the field will open and fans will then choose spots on the field to set up camp to watch the movie and spend the night, if they choose. This year’s movie is Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
In the past, UCLA football players have been available to pictures and autographs before the movie started and there have been activities for kids to enjoy, such as a giant inflatable obstacle course. There are usually snacks for purchase and complimentary popcorn and water (although these freebies have not been confirmed for this year), but you can also bring your own food and beverages into the event. Here are the items you can and can’t bring into the Rose Bowl that day:
