This game may be closer than it should be. The Bruins have a distinct talent advantage, but the Wildcats narrowly defeated the Colorado Buffaloes last weekend to pick up their first Pac-12 Conference win. The big questions revolve around UCLA and they are the same questions we’ve been asking all season.
Keys to the Game
- Can anyone on UCLA play defense? The Bruin defense has been flat-out awful all season. Was UCLA able to solve its defensive woes during the bye week? The Bruin defense played better against Colorado two weeks ago. Can they maintain that and improve again? UCLA needs to if the Bruins hope to win.
- The offense line needs to control the line of scrimmage. The offensive line has played better this season by keeping Josh Rosen upright and opening up holes for the Bruin running backs, but the offensive line played its worst game of the season against Colorado. “Line wins games.” Can the offensive line get back to the way it played to start the season?
- Keep the punter off the field. Through five games, the offense has done a very good job of keeping Stefan Flintoff off the field. Along with that, the team is going for it much more this season on fourth down. Let’s hope the trend continues.
