Quest for #112: UCLA Women's Golf - NCAA Championship Tourney Thread

After the first day of action in the NCAA women's golf championship tourney in Tulsa, the Lady Bruins find themselves in second and in a strong position to challenge for the title, which would be UCLA's 112th NCAA national championship after the women's tennis team brought home the 111th yesterday in an epic win over North Carolina.

Another year, another NCAA national championship for our UCLA Bruins.  With the women's tennis team pulling out an epic 4-3 victory over North Carolina in the NCAA championship game yesterday to clinch Westwood's 111th national championship, the women's golf team now looks to add to the Bruins' trophy case with UCLA's 112th national championship trophy.

After the first day of NCAA championship tourney action, the Lady Bruins find themselves in second place with a team score of 291, +11 over par, trailing behind only Oklahoma (288, +8) and two strokes ahead of third-placed Duke, Southern California, and Arizona State (293, +13).  The Bruins will look to put together another strong day in their bid to make an assault on the top of the leaderboard, with tee times for UCLA beginning at 5:30 a.m. PST for the Lady Bruins.  For complete information on tee times tomorrow, you can check out this helpful informational graphic from the fine folks at Golfstat. And of course, if you want to track how the tournament is unfolding, you can get live stats from Golfstat here.

Let's hope our Bruins can keep up their fine form and iron out the little mistakes that cost them those couple of extra strokes.  This is your NCAA women's golf tournament open thread, so fire away with your takes, thoughts, and analysis as you watch or hear how the tourney is progressing.  Let's get it done Bruins - get us one step closer to #112.
