Women's Basketball
The Women's #12 Basketball team played in Seattle in the Pac-12 Tourney this weekend. They demolished a bad Arizona team on Thursday, 72-51, in the Quarterfinals, then squeaked out a win in overtime against UC Berkeley on Friday, 73-67, in the Semifinals before falling to Oregon State on Sunday, 69-57, in the Finals. The ladies are playing good basketball so I really hope they can make some noise in the NCAA tourney. Also, it was really nice seeing them act like "barn cats" against Arizona.
Softball
The Women's #13 Softball team got off to a bad start on Friday losing to Florida State 0-3 before finding their offense and crushing their competition the rest of the weekend. In the second game on Friday, they beat UC Santa Barbara 3-2 then, on Saturday, beat Charleston Southern 9-0 (5) and Syracuse 3-2. On Sunday they closed strong beating UC Davis 9-1 in 5 innings.
Beach Volleyball
The season started this weekend and the #6 Women's Volleyball team split their games. They started off strong beating #4 Long Beach State 3-2 on Saturday morning and then #3 Hawai'i 3-2 in the afternoon. Sunday was tougher as they lost both their games: losing to #1 Southern Cal 5-0 in the morning and then to #2 Pepperdine 5-0 in the afternoon.
Women's Water Polo
Finally, since their tough defeat to #1 Southern Cal, the #2 Women's Water Polo team looked angry and steam rolled all of their opponents this weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan. On Saturday, they beat #15 Loyola Marymount, 17-4, and George Washington, 22-5. On Sunday, they beat the hosts #5 Michigan, 9-5, then crushed Bucknell 20-5.
Gymnastics
The Gymnastic's team hosted Georgia and Stanford on Sunday though, sadly, they came in third scoring 196.825. Here's some of the team highlights:
Danusia Francis did not disappoint on the beam as she scored a perfect 10. Check it out:
