UCLA Men’s Water Polo Puts Streak On The Line At Mountain Pacific Invitational

The team is looking to extend its 44-game winning streak this weekend.

@UCLAWaterPolo

This afternoon, the UCLA Men’s Water Polo looks for its 45th consecutive victory when they face Pomona-Pitzer in a first-round game at the Mountain Pacific Invitational (formerly the Kap7/NorCal Invitational) in Northern California.

Unlike their other tournaments so far, this one will actually play a championship game.

As the #1 team in the country, UCLA is properly seeded as #1 in the tournament. Assuming they win today, they will face the winner of Pepperdine and UC Irvine tomorrow at 8am.

The Bruins are looking for a strong showing today because their last game on Sunday against Long Beach State was a close one. It was so close that UCLA needed overtime to dispose of the 49ers.

In this week’s Collegiate Water Polo Association Top 20 Poll, UCLA remained at #1 for the 20th consecutive week, with 99 points while Southern Cal is ranked #2 with 96 points.

What I want to know is who is the pollster that actually put Southern Cal ahead of a team riding a 44-game winning streak.

Go Bruins!!!
