The Bruins have gotten their first break in the Round of 16 before their match has started. That’s because the start time of UCLA’s match against the #15 seed Michigan Wolverines has been pushed back due to bad weather in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

As a result of the weather, UCLA’s match has been relocated to the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina about an hour east of Winston-Salem and the match will now be played indoors.

It’s been a long time since the Bruins faced the Wolverines in a men’s tennis match. The teams haven’t met since 1989 when UCLA won 8-1.

The Bruins advanced to the Round of 16 by sweeping San Diego on Sunday, 4-0, at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.

By defeating the Toreros at home last weekend, UCLA finished the season with a perfect home schedule. The Bruins won all 16 matches at home.

The Wolverines advanced to today’s match by sweeping both Cleveland State and Notre Dame in Ann Arbor last weekend.
