Yesterday, the UCLA men’s golf team shot a 2-under 278 to finish the NCAA Pullman Regional with a three-day total of 11-under 829, which was good for eighth place. Unfortunately, only the top five teams advance to the NCAA Championships. So, UCLA’s season is now over.
The Bruins finished the competition ten strokes behind fifth place South Carolina and 22 strokes behind first place Texas A&M.
Devon Bling tied for the fourth-best score in the third round yesterday to move up nine spots on the leaderboard. Bling shot a 4-under 66 yesterday and that allowed him to finish tied for 17th overall with a three-day total of 6-under 204.
Eddy Lai and Hidetoshi Yoshihara both shot a 1-over 71 and the duo finished tied for 37th place with a 1-under 209. Meanwhile, Cole Madey shot a 2-over 72 yesterday to finish with a 1-over 211, tying him for 44th place. Patrick Murphy finished tied for 47th after shooting a par-70 yesterday, giving him a three-day total of 2-over 212.
Texas A&M, BYU, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech and South Carolina were the top five teams and will advance to the NCAA Championships.
