Mora on a Recruiting Roll: Top-5 Rated Center Scott Quessenberry Commits to UCLA

Recruiting momentum continues for UCLA football as top-5 rated center Scott Quessenberry commits to Bruins.

Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Well, nothing like starting a college football Saturday with some great recruiting news. GrampaBruin was on top of this in the fan shot section. UCLA just picked up a commitment from a top-5 center - Scott Quessenberry from San Diego. From Edward Lewis at Bruin Sports Report:

"For the next four or five years," Quessenberry said on the local San Diego TV station KUSI, "I'll be playing football at UCLA."

Quessenberry, the No. 5-rated center in the nation, picked the Bruins over Cal, Nebraska and San Diego State. He had offers from nearly the entire Pac-12, Arkansas and Wisconsin, among others.

"I have created a really good relationship with coach (Adrian) Klemm, the O-line coach, coach (Jim) Mora and coach (Marques) Tuiasosopo, who recruited me down here," Quessenberry said. "It feels like the right fit. It's close enough to home but far enough away. I can go home and have a home cooked meal from my mother - that's a big deal for me."

Little bit more on Scott from ESPNP Insiders:

ESPN rates Quessenberry as the No. 2 OC and calls him, "a very effective offensive tackle, dominating defenders with his athleticism and playing strength. However, his present size and growth potential indicate a move to center and that would best take advantage of his outstanding athletic ability."

Sounds good to us. Here is a little video:
