U.C.L.A. did have some good news come out of last weekend after all.
Excited to say that I'm verbally committed to UCLA. pic.twitter.com/h2yTtKVCYz— Cassius Peat (@cassiuspeat) October 14, 2014
Peat is a 6-4 235lb outside linebacker from Corona del Sol HS in Tempe, AZ. He is rated 3* by both Rivals and 247Sports.
Once again, U.C.L.A. invades the valley of the sun to pick one of the top players out of Arizona. Peat passed on an offer from his hometown ASU Sun Devils, as well as offers from Michigan State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M to pick the Bruins. It's even more impressive when you consider Peat took his official visit to U.C.L.A. last weekend when he saw our football program at one of its lower points in a while. Jeff Ulbrich is listed as Peat's main recruiter.
Peat becomes the 15th recruit committed to the Bruins 2015 class. Check his junior year highlights here.
The young man is long and looks to have a frame with a lot of room to grow. And speaking of growing, Peat has some impressive football genes. His father played in the NFL one older brother played DL at Nebraska and another older brother is a tackle at Stanford. Football is really in his blood.
Welcome to Westwood, Cassius!
