In perhaps the most unfortunately timed commitment announcement that I can remember, as UCLA is flooding, 3* linebacker Joshua Woods pledged to the UCLA Bruins on Tuesday evening.
I'm very honored and excited to announce my 6th official offer & the school I am verbally committing to! #UCLA #8clap pic.twitter.com/rWuDsziErA

Woods did not play varsity football last season because of ridiculously outdated transfer rules in California. Woods moved from Victor Valley High School to Inland Empire power Upland High School after his sophomore year.
Despite this, Woods is still rated as a 3* prospect at LB by both Rivals and Scout and had scholarship offers from Arizona State, Arizona, Washington State, Boise State and Nevada.
Here are highlights from his sophomore season:
That whole tape is of Woods at running back, but he recently went through the camp circuit and his Nike Sparq numbers can be found here. Some highlights, a 4.7 40 time (apparently he's been clocked at 4.58, but high school 40 times are fickle), 32.9 inch vertical jump and he comes in at 6'3" and 200 pounds which is a solid frame to build from in a college S&C environment. Hope to see Woods flash in the Baseline League this season as a senior.
Woods went into detail on his commitment in an interview with Greg Biggins at Scout, noting that Jim Mora's success against Southern Cal impacted his decision as well as the relationship with the coaching staff.
Congrats to Josh and the UCLA staff for landing another commitment.
As always, Go Bruins!
