What a comeback!
The U.C.L.A. Bruins started National Signing Day 2015 in the best way possible when they landed prized tight end Chris Clark from Avon CT. Clark announced his decision this morning on ESPNU
The nation's top tight end Chris Clark has selected UCLA over Michigan. A huge get to start the day for Jim Mora and his staff.

Clark is 6-5 and 253 and runs a 4.7 40. He is a 5* on Scout and a 4* on both Rivals and 247. Both Rivals and Scout have him ranked as the top TE in the country. You can see his Rivals profile here and his Scout profile here and his 247 profile here. Noel Mazzone and Taylor Mazzone are credited as his lead recruiters.
This recruitment came down to a battle between U.C.L.A. and Michigan. New Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh has been desperately trying to scrape together a recruiting class and Clark became one of his top targets. But his cheap shots at U.C.L.A. weren't enough to sway Clark from a chance to attend a better public school and play with the nation's top QB recruit, Josh Rosen.
Getting Clark to U.C.L.A. is a major comeback for the recruiting staff who at one time had a solid commitment from the other top TE in the country. But that recruitment got very strange when that commit waxed and waned, then waned more, then finally decommitted altogether The Bruins had gone hard after Clark in the meantime and when he became their sole TE target, his recruitment became vitally important. Even Bruin alums Marcedes Lewis and Joe Fauria chimed in via twitter. Well, now Clark can follow in their impressive footsteps.
Here are Clark's senior season highlights from Hudl.
You can see that Clark has a great combo of size and good hands with really good ability to run after the catch. He'll make a great target both in the red zone due to his size or on seams up the middle where it will be difficult for a linebacker to stay with him in coverage.
Now the nation's #1 quarterback is going to have the nation's #1 tight end catching passes. What a great way to start the day.
Welcome to Westwood, Chris!
GO BRUINS!
