What's Bruin: Can UCLA Football Flip Mique Juarez and Traveon Beck?

New, 5 comments

ESPN was in town yesterday and there's a bunch of recruiting news this morning. Let's find out "What's Bruin."

Joe Piechowski

I think my corneas have finally recovered after having to look at the latest abomination from adidas and now I can see again. With that taken care of, let's take a quick look at some of the other UCLA Football and Recruiting news.

UCLA Football

Grantland has an article up about Impact Freshman and a certain quarterback is mentioned.

ESPN is on the West Coast and they have several items about UCLA. First, there is a radio interview Coach Mora did with Rece Davis. Then, there's an article profiling the Fourth Year Coaches in the Pac-12 including Coach Mora. And, finally, they have a preview of UCLA's season.

UCLA Recruiting

Greg Biggins of Scout/BRO has three recruiting articles on potential football recruits. First up, he has an article on former UCLA commit Jordan Parker who still has UCLA in his top 7 schools despite decommitting a month ago.

Speaking of decommits, Biggins has a separate article looking at whether or not USC commit Mique Juarez might decommit and choose UCLA instead.

Finally, Biggins has a third article about Andrew Davis, a defensive back from Upland, who stood out at UCLA's camp this summer.

Sticking with Scout/BRO, there is an article by Greg Powers looking at Justin Madubuike, a four-star DE from Texas who has liked UCLA since he was a kid.

Moving up north, it seems that our SB Nation sister site California Golden Blogs is getting concerned that UCLA may try to flip Traveon Beck now that UCLA has offered Beck a scholarship. Beck comes from St. John Bosco. Let's hope he wants to play with his old teammate Josh Rosen.

One more thing...

Somehow, I missed the fact that the Bruin Sports Report posted a video of Kene Orjioke after practice yesterday. So, here it is.

And, that will wrap it up.

Go Bruins!!!
