After missing on more highly rated quarterback recruits like Tate Martell and Jack Sears, Jim Mora and staff finally added a quarterback to the 2017 recruiting class. Austin Burton, rated 2-stars by Rivals and Scout, announced via twitter Monday afternoon that he would play his college football in Westwood.

Burton received a scholarship offer from UCLA on June 30, the same day he made his original commitment to play for Steve Addazio at B.C. Burton camped with the Bruins in the summer, shortly before receiving the UCLA offer. He had remained committed to the Eagles until his announcement on Monday. The QB is originally from Newton, MA, where he played high school ball before transferring to West Orange High School in Florida for his upcoming senior season.
Burton is an important addition for future depth and to the competition for the starting spot in 2018, as Mora and staff must begin to plan for Life After Rosen.

Welcome to Westwood, Austin!
