It's National Signing Day 2017!!! It's one of the biggest days on the college football calendar as high school recruits are able to sign their national letters of intent and officially announce their college decisions.
After another rough football season in 2016, the Bruins are looking to regain their mojo and re-ignite the hopes of the UCLA fan base. Depending on which scouting site you prefer, the Bruins currently have a recruiting class that's ranked between 18 and 22 nationally. But, coffee is for closers and, when it comes to recruiting, Jim Mora and staff have proven to be the Starbucks of recruiting.
While that has yet to translate into the kind of on-field success Bruins fans desire, today is the beginning for every team's hopes of making the College Football Playoff.
The Bruins' current commitment list looks like this (bold text indicated LOI is received or is an early enrollee)

The class is loaded at defensive back and coaches Angus McClure and Demetrice Martin have done a heck of a job this recruiting cycle.
We'll be following the UCLA Football twitter account to get updates on when players have officially submitted their LOIs.
The UCLA coaching staff and fans will also be watching for a few remaining announcements today that could go the Bruins' way. In past years, we've seen how much excitement can come with some signing day announcements. The Bruins still have some needs to fill and UCLA is looking to add a few more big time recruits today. Mora and staff are among the finalists for at least four announcements today and, if these players put on a UCLA hat, our 2017 recruiting class can potentially finish in the top 10 or 15 in the country.
