After yesterday’s loss in the Pac-12 Tournament, Bruin fans could use some good news.
Enter Isaiah Thomas.
Thomas is a junior at Thomas Downey HS in Modesto and he is 6’3” and weighs 194 pounds.
Today, he made an unofficial visit to campus and that visit went well enough that he announced that he has committed to UCLA.

While both Scout and 247Sports rank him as a three-star WR, he was a standout on the defensive side of the ball and could end up playing outside linebacker for the Bruins. Johnson told Scout’s Brandon Huffman a few weeks ago that Bruin linebacker coach Scott White had offered him as an outside linebacker.
As a receiver, Johnson can fly. That’s due in large part to the fact that he runs the 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds. But his speed is also seen when rushing the passer from the outside edge.
You can see him do both in his Hudl highlights. First, we have his Junior season highlights:
Next are his Sophomore year highlights:
And, finally, Johnson makes a big hit::
Welcome to Westwood, Isaiah!
Go Bruins!
