One of UCLA’s few disappointments of National Signing Day 2016 was the fact that Devin Asiasi picked Michigan over UCLA while DeLaSalle teammate Boss Tagiloa chose to come to Westwood.
In fact, in our post-Signing Day Roundtable, orlandobruin wrote:
I wish we would have landed Asiasi. That would have cemented for me the fact the Bruins are moving more toward a pro-style offense that utilized a traditional tight end and fullback.
After spending his freshman year in Ann Arbor, Asiasi wanted to be closer to home and that meant the West Coast. On February 21st, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed that Asiasi was leaving the Wolverines.

Asiasi’s transfer re-unites him with not only Tagiloa, but also two of his former coaches at Michigan, UCLA’s new offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch and WR Coach Jimmy Dougherty.
Devin is listed at 6’3” tall and weighing 287 pounds on Michigan’s official site. He played in all 13 of Michigan’s games last season. For the year, he caught two passes for a total of 18 yards with one touchdown.
Here are Asiasi’s Hudl.com highlights from his senior year at De La Salle HS in Concord:
Welcome to Westwood....finally, Devin!
