UCLA Football added its fourth commitment in two days when Abdul-Malik McClain committed to the Bruins late yesterday.

McClain will be a senior at JSerra High School in San Juan Capistrano this Fall. Scout rates him as a 4-star recruit and the number 2 weak-side defensive end in California.

McClain made the announcement on Twitter.

McClain is 6’4” tall and weighs in at 230 pounds. According to his profile, he runs the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds, he runs the shuttle in 4.26 seconds and he can squat 500 pounds.

Let’s look at some his highlights from his junior season, which he played at Rancho Santa Margarita Catholic HS.

Overall, McClain looks like someone who is able to penetrate into the offensive backfield and disrupt a play. He reminds me a lot of former Bruin and 1st round pick of the Atlanta Falcons Takkarist McKinley in that respect.

In addition to UCLA, McClain had offers from Washington, ASU, Oregon State, Louisville, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech plus a few more schools.

Welcome to Westwood, Abdul-Malik!

Go Bruins!
