Welcome to UCLA, John Ward!#NSD19 | #GoBruins pic.twitter.com/Dt8p5GPxHf
When Ward committed to UCLA back in July, we shared his highlight video which he titled the “Best 7 minutes of Your Life.” Since we haven’t really checked in on Ward since then, I thought we’d share a newer video from Ward’s Hudl profile. Ward calls this one the “Palmdale Pain Train,” which shows him inflicting “pain” on Palmdale’s opponents with his play.
Watching a video like this restores my hope in the future for the Bruins because Ward is shown playing primarily inside linebacker on defense, which is another position of need for the the Bruins. It will be interesting to see whether Ward is able to come in and contribute as soon as next year. Considering how thin the Bruins were at inside linebacker this season, Chip Kelly and Don Pellum may need Ward on the field in 2019 to add depth to the linebacking corps. We’ll have to keep an eye on him.
Welcome to Westwood, John!
Go Bruins!!!
