UCLA Football Recruiting: ATH Hayden Harris Is Officially a Bruin!

One of UCLA’s newest commits has submitted his NLI.

@Hquare7

In what is likely the UCLA Bruins’ last signing of the day, Hayden Harris has submitted his National Letter of Intent.

At this time yesterday, Harris was the newest member of UCLA’s 2019 recruiting class having been offered on Monday by Chip Kelly and accepting the offer the same day. As I noted yesterday, Harris’ game highlights show a guy with good nose for the football who can be an effective pass rusher, which UCLA was really needing.

The good news is that, with last night’s addition of JUCO transfer Datona Jackson, the Bruins have gotten two effective pass rushers in this class. Of course, that’s a good thing because depth was obviously an issue this season. That issue became a permanent issue when it was announced that Jaelan Phillips had decided to leave the program.

Now, it will be up to the coaching staff and the strength and conditioning staff to get these two guys prepared to play as quickly as possible. Hopefully, that happens sooner rather than later.

Since we looked at Harris’ senior year highlights just yesterday, let’s take a look at his junior year highlights today.

Overall, I think Harris will likely be a project for UCLA, but I think he’s more of a project for Frank Wintrich than Roy Manning as he seems to possess good football instincts, but need to get bigger, stronger and faster.

While I said it just yesterday, it bears repeating today since it’s now official:

Welcome to Westwood, Hayden!

Go Bruins!!
