UCLA Football Recruiting: Tyler Manoa Is Officially a Bruin

One of the Bruins’ most recent commits makes it official.

@CoachKennManoa

Last weekend, Tyler Manoa announced his commitment to UCLA Football. Today, Manoa made it official when he signed his National Letter of Intent and submitted it to UCLA.

Manoa participated at a National Signing Day ceremony at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, California at 12:30 pm PT.

While it took several hours for his NLI to be received by UCLA, there wasn’t any real drama involved, thankfully, considering that Manoa is one of the top recruits of UCLA’s 2018 recruiting class.

Finally, UCLA tweeted out that Manoa’s NLI has been received.

On Saturday, I wrote that Manoa is “long, quick and agile. He’s able to penetrate into the backfield and will pursue the play wherever the ball is, even if it means running halfway across the field.” He seems to be in the same mold of the other defensive linemen that UCLA seems to be signing.

Personally, I‘m really excited to see what these new guys are capable of doing to improve our defense, but what excites me even more is that these guys all seem to be good at penetrating into the offensive backfield, which is something I think has been lacking on defense for the UCLA Bruins throughout the Mora era.

Again, welcome to Westwood, Tyler!

Go Bruins!!!
