The National Letters of Intent started rolling in early Wednesday morning. Pat Jolly’s letter was in first at 4:16 am PT. It makes sense that Jolly’s letter would arrive that early. Jolly lives in Florida.
The second new Bruin to submit his NLI was Matt Alaimo (pronounced A-lay-mo) from St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey. UCLA received his NLI at 5:06 am PT. That’s 8:06 am Eastern time for you Trojans out there.
Normally, Alaimo would be getting ready to start his first period class at the time.
But, not this Wednesday.
This Wednesday, SJR’s administration had decided to close school for the day to due expected snow. Woo-hoo! SNOW DAY!
I’m glad to see that some things never change at my high school alma mater. St. Joe’s always had a tendency to call snow days early.
As a result, St. Joe’s in-school signing day ceremony was postponed until today. Of course, that didn’t stop Alaimo from turning his letter of intent to UCLA.
But, it does mean that we received a few pictures of St. Joe’s ceremony this morning, courtesy of Karyn Ochiuzzo, that we might not have had time to publish in the bedlam that occurs on the first Wednesday of February.

Congratulations again to Matt and welcome to the Bruin family!
Go Bruins!!!
