Last night, the UCLA Bruins picked up two new commitments. One of them was 3-star DB Shamar Martin from Morse HS in San Diego for the 2019 recruiting class.
The other was Collin Flintoft, who is ranked as the 7th-best punter in the nation by 247Sports.com. He recently graduated from Loyola HS in Los Angeles and also happens to be the cousin of current UCLA punter Stefan Flintoft.
Flintoft had been committed to UC Berkeley, but announced yesterday that he is coming to UCLA instead. Based on that and the fact that he will start in the fall, it would appear that he will be walking on at UCLA.
He announced his commitment to the Bruins on Twitter.
With a lot of careful thought and prayer, I have committed to play football for UCLA. The opportunity to play for the team I grew up rooting for and play with family is a dream come true. I am very grateful for the faith that my parents and the UCLA coaches have in me. Go Bruins! pic.twitter.com/lhYQ6yoBXa

Soon thereafter, his cousin Stefan weighed in on his decision.
And the legacy has officially begun! 2 Flintoft’s, 1 team. Congrats little cuz! https://t.co/2TYEv64l9n

It’s always cool when UCLA becomes a family affair.
Here are his senior season highlights from Hudl.com.
Welcome to Westwood, Collin!
Go Bruins!!!
