UCLA Football Recruiting: Texas CB DJ Warnell Commits to the Bruins

UCLA beat out Utah, Purdue, Arizona and Texas Tech, among others to land Warnell.

Dickinson, Texas cornerback DJ Warnell has committed to UCLA.

The 2020 UCLA Bruins football recruiting class added its 21st member yesterday when three-star cornerback DJ Warnell from Dickinson HS in Dickinson, Texas committed to the Bruins. The commitment came just days after Warnell picked up an offer from UCLA on December 3rd. He made the announcement on Twitter Sunday night.

At 6’2” tall and weighing 190 pounds according to his Hudl profile, Warnell has good size and his Hudl senior year highlight video shows him able to use both his size and his speed to make plays.

Following a season where the secondary was clearly an issue, the addition of Warnell to the 2020 recruiting class is certainly a positive addition for the Bruins.

247Sports recruiting guru Brandon Huffman spoke with Warnell about his commitment and Warnell explained it this way:

There were three reasons why I picked UCLA, because of the best of these — the education, the athletics and the location....

I think the distance will be best for me to grow up.

It sounds like he already has good perspective on his decision.

Welcome to Westwood, DJ!

Go Bruins!!!
