UCLA Down 23-14 at the Half: 2nd Half Thread

The Bruins struck first, but despite two interceptions, the Trojans lead 23-14 going into the break.

The UCLA offense jumped out to a quick score and a 7-0 lead about a minute and half into the game. It was shocking, it was encouraging. Fabian Moreau intercepted a pass, and with goal to go, Fafaul found Jordan Lasley for his second touchdown and the Bruins were leading 14-7.

The rest of the story has not been good. Despite a +2 turnover margin, the good guys are down by 9, and Tom Bradley’s normally stout defense is getting torched.

The offense—after a falsely encouraging first drive—has reverted to anemic form and the half time break couldn’t have come soon enough for Jim Mora’s team.

To add his chapter to Bruin legend, Fafaul, the fifth-year senior former walk-on, will now have to execute a comeback.
